busy day today

This afternoon is the monthly Meet & Greet at B&N, which should be fun. On the way, I have to drop off something for a friend nearby that she left at my house.
This evening is the SEF Coffeehouse in Grafton. I'll be seeing lots of friends (including too many LJ buds to list), and enjoying some fine entertainment and home-baked goodies. Yay! I wish I could afford to bid at the auction, but I'll just have to show my support by buying cookies and cheering the performers.
I had to run out to CVS this morning to get more generic Zantac. My doctor told me to take that instead of Tums, since Tums' calcium can actually increase stomach acid. The urologist agreed that it was probably all the Tums that caused my kidney stones. Sheesh! No more Tums for me. And here I thought they were safe. The faux-Zantac really works, too. I find myself anticipating heartburn after eating something that usually causes it, and it doesn't appear. It's a miracle. I only have to take two little pills a day, instead of untold numbers of chalky tablets. It's slightly more expensive in the long run, but oh so much easier. I used to get heartburn that would wake me out of a deep sleep.
Stupid cough is still hanging on, which I hear is a hallmark of this particular bug. It's not as bad as it was, but it still wakes me up occasionally. I'm getting pretty tired of it.
We actually finished the paper before five yesterday, so, yay! I was so tired I almost fell asleep during Doctor Who. I hit 'record' on the VCR in case I couldn't make it through BSG, but I did. Boy, there is just no predicting where that show will go! I didn't even try to stay awake for Monk; I have that one on tape. After waking up to a coughing fit at four-something this morning, I managed to go back to sleep and stay that way until after nine. I'm feeling much more refreshed today. :)
Have a great weekend, all!
