I woke up way too early this morning, and since it's still too cold to go out, I've been surfing around Flickr and thinking about photography. Specifically, I've been thinking about what I've learned about it, mostly through trial and error, but also through just looking at other people's photos on Flickr.
I've learned a lot about lighting; getting the subject and focus isn't enough. The lighting has to be right. Not everything can be fixed with software.
I've learned to fill the frame with the subject. Sometimes I have to crop the pic to get it right, but close up is better than far away.
I've learned to take more than one shot of something I really want to get right. Also, take from several angles.
I've learned to take my camera with me everywhere. You never know when a Kodak moment will happen! I've also learned to take extra batteries. *g*
I've learned that I have a lot to learn. I have a lot of fun learning, though. :)
