Really sick today. Full-blown cold. Ugh. I just took another Advil because two weren't doing it. Benadryl's just taking the edge off, while making me feel dopey. But it's better than blowing my nose every 30 seconds. I think.
I'm watching grown men hurtle themselves down an icy mountain on slim slats of wood. That takes guts. I think the winter Olympics are much more exciting than the summer games. Well, except for curling, but I don't think they show that on prime time. ;)
I watched most of the opening ceremonies last night, and they were truly bizarre. Fellini would be proud. The costumes, dancing, and disco music were very surreal. I'm not sure if the drugs made it better or worse.
Needless to say, I won't be making it to the covenstead tonight. I feel badly about it, but I'm just not in any shape to drive all that way. And I don't want to make everyone else sick, too. The promised snow is not supposed to start (here, anyway) until after midnight, so I could have made it. So not looking forward to digging out my car tomorrow.
I think it's time for more tea, and curling up under a blankie.

Date: 2006-02-12 12:18 pm (UTC)It's 3:00 the day after, and there are still five of us here, hanging out and working our way through all the food we stockpiled yesterday. ;-) We dug Ann's car out this morning because she wanted to stay overnight, but also wanted to get home mid-day. Everyone else but me is out shoveling snow right now. We intend to have an Esbat tonight whether or not anyone else is able to make it... it's still snowing and blowing around, and we have probably gotten at least 7 inches by now!

Date: 2006-02-12 12:24 pm (UTC)Sounds like you're all making the best of the snow! I was just watching NECN and there's a band of heavy snow heading your way. Good luck! We haven't gotten all that much here, less than 6" from what I can tell. Hampden, though, got 20"! The heavy snow band missed us here.
