lizziebelle: (snow lady)

I went to dig out my car, figuring it would be easier this afternoon than in the morning, and finished precisely when the plow guy came back for a second run. So I moved it and he plowed out my space, and back in it went. Yay! He's a nice guy; he's even helped me shovel out behind the car a couple of times. I think he appreciates that I actually move my car for him, unlike most of my neighbors.

It looks like we got about 7 or 8 inches, but it's hard to tell because it's been blowing around quite a bit. We got considerably less than many towns in CT and even just a few miles east of here. Hampden, which is the next town over from where I work, got 20" last I heard. Mom said they had about a foot, southwest of Boston. The heavy band of snow hadn't hit them yet at that point, either. It missed us completely, I think! Thank the gods for small favors. It looks to be mostly over at this point, so hopefully they will have cleared the roads by tomorrow morning.

I'm going back & forth between feeling better and sliding back down again. Right now I feel OK; a little shaky from the exertion, but not too icky. Getting ready for a nice, hot shower. :)

Johanna thinks we got about 12". After this evening's circle, she swept off her car and went home. We still have two guests, who will head home tomorrow. Usually not happy about visitors, Nike has gotten pretty mellow about the extra primates in the house, and is napping very close by.

Take care and feel better soon.
