Well, I made the decision to stay home tonight, and called Lakshmi to let her know. She wasn't surprised; they've had about as much snow as we have, and the roads aren't in great shape. I'm bummed that I'll be missing a lovely gathering with my friends, but relieved I don't have to go out in this weather. The mailman delivered the first disc of The Wire from Netflix, which many people have recommended to me, so I have something interesting to watch. I have some boneless pork chops that I must think of something interesting to do with, and some wine and chocolate to celebrate with if I feel so inspired. I think that the calendar is somewhat random, and it seems strange to me to be celebrating a new year at this time in the wheel, but whatever. Everyone else is celebrating.
