back to real life

It's quiet in the office today, which I suppose is a good thing as I am re-entering the world from hibernation. I got the rest of my pix from yesterday up on Flickr, like the above pic of wind-whipped snow at the cemetery.
At one point on my walk, I came across this stretch of critter prints that almost looked like they were trying to spell something out in the snow.
I can almost see a 'duck' or, perhaps, 'dick' in there. Heh.
Our main program is down for a couple of hours, so there's not a lot of real work that I can do for the moment. :P
I realized today that the ad I took last week for Stop & Shop, for temporary workers, is actually for scabs in case they have a strike. Not sure how I feel about that; on the one hand, it's business and I can't turn it away. On the other, well, I'll likely support the strikers and shop elsewhere if it happens. Perhaps they're placing the ad to try and intimidate the workers? I've never worked anyplace where there was a union, so I don't know the intricacies of this sort of thing. I think that some strikes are a little ridiculous (baseball players? really?), but I know that things would be much worse for workers of all kinds if there were no unions, and that a lot of groups need someone watching out for their interests. Even actors and baseball players. Most of them do not make the big bucks, and depend on unions to make sure they get what is rightfully theirs.
Yes, I have too much time on my hands today. *g* Boss man just called and said the program will be back up soon though, so I can get some actual work done today. Woo hoo.
