rambling

I went on a ramble about town this morning, with no particular destination in mind. This plaque is on an antiques shop down the street; one of the nice things about living in an older town (settled in the 1600's) (and don't you laugh at me, you Brits with your ancient towns ;) is that there are still lots of older buildings here, even some from the 1700's. It's one of the things I loved about my adopted hometown, Geneseo. Old buildings, and old cemeteries. Walking ways that have been trod for centuries. Respect and preservation of what came before.

Except, apparently, for trees. I did find a story about the missing trees on the green; at least it wasn't random, and they do have a plan to revitalize it. Still, it looks rather bare and forlorn at the moment.

I'm off to the monthly meet & greet this afternoon, then to Conjure Cinema in Hudson. I really don't feel like going anywhere, but it'll be good for me to get out of the house. Besides, next weekend will be a three-dayer, so I can rest then. Right? *g*
