Monday odds

This was sitting on my desk when I came in this morning. The first thing I thought was that it was from Diane, but when I asked her she said it was Lou. Lou used to work here, on the dock, and is in his late eighties. He had to retire finally in order to care for his wife, and we all miss him lots. He's a good soul. He came in early this morning, before everyone got here, and left little packages on various desks. What a sweetie.


As I was getting out of my car this morning, this bright blue patch caught my eye. It's gum, with tire treads on it.



It just looked so odd.
