I went down to Heritage Park at lunch today, and the crabapple trees were in full bloom. Here's one of them. The apple trees had buds just about to burst open; a few warm days, and they'll be dropping petals like vernal snow.

around here the ornamental pears are dropping their petals. round bits of soft white stuff, floating and blowing everywhere, gathering in small drifts and piles.
