I woke up this morning to a world covered in ice. It was as beautiful as it was dangerous. It took me quite a while to chip through the thick coating on my car windows, but fortunately the roads were in pretty good shape. On my break, I went out and took lots of pictures of the harsh beauty.

We also had a cookie bake-off at the office today.

I only had a bite from each, but that was quite enough. Cookies for lunch. Nom.

And of course, when I got home, my car got stuck when I was trying to turn her around. Fortunately, the temperature is supposed to rise to nearly 50 tomorrow, so I'm not too worried. But still... d'oh!

High fives! Same photo (different colored metal, though :D)

Love your shot of the grass, too.

Fist bump! You were brave indeed to go out on a bridge. All I did was walk in a parking lot!

It sure was. I was quite surprised. It's mostly melted this morning, though.

Oh, wow! I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in this country. How beautiful... and how scary!

I've never seen anything like that either. To get that effect, it looks as though rain fell and froze as it hit the ground. It's weirdly beautiful, but I suspect deadly for trying to drive or walk.

That's exactly what happened. It's called Freezing Rain, and it does fall as liquid but freezes on contact. It can be quite dangerous when the road just looks wet!
