letterboxing

When I was over at Callahan State Park a couple weeks ago, I stumbled upon a letterbox cache, and remembered that I had done that once upon a time (also through stumbling upon a cache). I remembered again today, and went online to see if there were any nearby. Well, of course there were. I also found an app which shows Atlas Quest boxes, handy to have when out on the trail. There was one logged at a park up the street, so off I went (after digging out my book, stamp, and ink pad).
On the way up there, I passed many people walking with dogs, and discovered there was an event called Woofstock at the Elks Club, next door to the park. Alas, it cost money to get in, so I didn't. It wasn't worth it just to take a few doggie pictures.

I followed the directions on the app, and found two Geocache boxes before finally finding the letterbox.

To my surprise, there was a hitchhiker in the letterbox! So I took it, and will place it in the next letterbox I find.

That was fun. There's another one on the rail trail, not too far away, so that'll be my next hunt.
