Fun day out

lizziebelleA couple of friends treated me to a day out at King Richard's Faire yesterday. I truly have the most awesome friends! It was a gorgeous October day, and I hadn't been there in years, so I was ready for a fun time. It didn't disappoint!
My favorite act was the bagpipe group, who also had a belly dancer performing with them. Seems an odd combination, but it worked. They were great.
Of course I had to go see the big cat show, even though it was terribly cheesy. Big kitties!
Also, big kitty cubs!
The range and extent of costumes was astounding.
We met other friends there, and had a lovely surprise when they announced their engagement! They'd met at the faire a few years ago, so it was the perfect place to pop the question. One of my friends alerted the queen, and she came over and made a pronouncement congratulating the happy couple. It was great fun.
On the way home, we stopped at a cranberry bog we'd seen being harvested on the way there. It was just after sunset, and the sky was gorgeous.
It was the perfect end to a fabulous day.

Date: 2014-10-20 06:46 pm (UTC)I knew that they grow a lot of cranberries in this state, and I see the fields throughout the year, but I'd never seen them harvested before. That was pretty cool.
