Woo hoo! My speakers work after all. They just refused to work yesterday afternoon, when I could really have used them. I needed some rock & roll, and instead I had silence. Frustrating.

Happy birthday wishes today to [livejournal.com profile] mmayhem!

It's back to being muggy today. We had one day of perfect weather, which is better than nothing I suppose; at least it was a good day for it, being the Solstice and all.

Ever wonder what a million starlings looks like? This. Coolness.

Soon it will be the weekend! And two weeks from tonight, I will be on my way to Brushwood. Woo!

A Million Starlings!

How cool. That site is right up there with the APOD site for nifty daily goodies.

Brushwood? "Honeys, We're Home," right?

That's right! I'll be home for 10 days this year. :)

What Fun!

Take a turn around the bonfire for me. I always tell people of the legendary bonfires there. Thirty feet high if it's an inch. And then they light it...

...I'm reading the original "Captain Blood" by Rafael Sabatini (pub 1922). Fun...

Ooh, cool! I remember watching the movie as a kid. Errol Flynn flicks were required watching in our household. :)

And, funnily enough, I was trying to remember someone's name today. It's Rafael. Synchronicity!

The bonfires are described as "big as a house." Supposedly they're visible from space. I believe it.

Visible From Space?

I guess it depends on what you're using. Binoculars? The Hubble? Spy satellites can probably tell whether you're using book matches or strike-anywheres...

I miss that festival, although not as much as FSG. *sigh*

Well, this is according to the Starwood folks. They could have been on drugs when they said that. ;)

(albeit quietly, so people don't ask awkward questions)

Yeah, nice folks, but not always well-hooked-in to the consensus reality.
