counting down
Dec. 31st, 2005 03:24 pmWow, everybody's writing about the New Year today. To me, it's a random day that happened to get picked for the first of the year; I don't put much stock in it, nor do I make resolutions. It's just an extension of the holiday season, one more night to get together with friends and spend a nice evening. :)
As I have for the past several years, I'm going to my old roomie Lakshmi's for some lovely repast, homemade mead, and companionship with several other good friends. The gifts are wrapped, the second shortbread is in the oven, I'm showered (though not yet dressed!), and I just have to pack my overnight bag. And it's snowing. Ugh.
I went out for lunch with Lopsy today at the Tavern. We were going to go to the Bistro, but it was closed today. Hmph. Anyhoo, it was nice to see her, and good to see her get out. She gets trapped in her house too often, with two autistic kids to care for. I can't even imagine what that must be like.
So. If you're celebrating tonight, be safe and have fun! See you on the flipside. :)
