fun for whom?
Mar. 10th, 2006 04:32 pmToday is "Fun Day" here at Reminder Publications. We were allowed to wear jeans (revolutionary!) and they had a cookout for us on the loading dock. Barb brought the burgers & hot dogs, everyone else brought the rest. I brought some soda, mainly so I could be sure to get some caffiene-free stuff. We had about a hundred bags of various types of chips. Well, maybe not a hundred, but at least a dozen. They were playing tunes on a boom box. It was fun, for about a minute. The rest of my day has been like salmon, swimming upstream. Yeah, it's definitely Mercury retrograde! I won't bore you with the details, but I will say that I didn't get to go to lunch until 2:20. I usually go around 1:30 on Fridays. It's a good thing they fed me earlier.
I went down to Heritage Park for my break. Lots of squishy mud! And the geese are back. Yesterday, about 3/4 of the pond still had ice; today it's less than a third, and it's very thin. I watched one gull fall through what was left of it three times before it gave up and flew away. :::giggle:::
It's 64 degrees out right now!!! The sun went back behind the clouds, but I'll take it. Aaaahhhhhhhhhh...
OK, and now the carriers' checks are missing. I'm here all alone, and they're looking at me accusingly, like I have anything to do with it. Aaarrrrggghhh! @#!%&
Diane called in sick again this morning, and Kim was in late because today is chemo day for her husband, so I had to beg for someone to come help me with the phones (OK, I guess I lied about boring you with the details). So. Kim tells me yesterday that her husband is going for this stem cell treatment in Boston, and she'll be out for two months. That's two months of days like today, because I will be doing most of her work as well as my own. Man, I really need to win the lottery or get a new job. They don't pay me enough to go through two months of this.
To end on a more positive note, I had fun putting together my ensemble this morning. I took this "fun day" thing seriously! I wore my mood ring that a covenmate had given me, and my Gumby earrings that my dad gave me. Only one person noticed the earrings. Sheesh!
