Sunday morning musings
Aug. 27th, 2006 08:18 amAnother grey, dreary, overcast morning in Massachusetts, and I am up much too early for the weekend. I was awake at seven, after having a bizarre but entertaining dream that was definitely influenced by Charles de Lint's Widdershins, which I finished reading last night. My subconscious cracks me up sometimes.
I spent much of yesterday in a sort of twilight zone, drifting through the day in a fog. I managed to take a nap, during which I had more strange dreams. There are a ton of things I wanted to get done, but I couldn't get myself motivated. Burnout, I suppose, and stress as well. I only managed to get out of the house because I was out of Tums, and my tummy has been roiling from various anxieties all week. I broke down and bought some Sam-e, which I have been out of for a couple of weeks; my knees have been creaky and painful, and it also helps with mood (somewhat like St. John's Wort), which can't hurt. The CVS brand was buy one, get one 50% off, and I had a coupon for $5, so it wasn't as bad as usual. It really does help, which I couldn't say for glucosamine/chondroiton/MSM (which I take anyway, because my mom sent me some).
There's a bluejay out back, scolding someone for being in its territory. My dad got divebombed by a jay once, when he got too close to her nest. Drew blood and everything! He admitted that she was perfectly justified, since he was trying to look in the nest. I always think of him when I hear a jay screaming at something. ;)
