good deeds and strange dreams
Jul. 26th, 2007 11:32 amI had (another) dream about Neil Gaiman this morning... this time, he was really short (I remember thinking he reminded me of Davy Jones (of Monkees fame) in the dream), and we were talking about blood orange cocktails. Also, there were kittens. Lots of them. Tiny, tiny kittens. Weird, but then that's my subconscious for you.
Here at the salt mines, I'm doing more than my share of good deeds for people today. I've had at least three people tell me I'm wonderful, just for finding what it was they needed. That made me feel good. It's nice to be appreciated for one's efforts. And really, I didn't mind. They were all nice. :)
My sleep cycle is still off, and I won't have the weekend to recover because it's my family reunion. Yes, I will be back in NY, just four days after leaving. It'll be good to see the cousins, aunts & uncles. We'll have to see what whacky cousin Freddie will do this year. *g*
I spent too much time reading last night, and not enough getting stuff done, so tonight is going to be a rush to get it all accomplished. I have to clean my bathroom (my mother will be in it tomorrow!), pack, and neaten up the pile of camping equipment in my living room so I won't be mortified in front of my family. Sheesh. Maybe I can throw some of it in the car for the weekend. Hey, now there's a thought!
