why am I awake?

Grrr... I had intended to sleep in this morning, but my brain is not cooperating.

It's snowing; looks like a couple of inches so far. It's supposed to turn to freezing rain, so I should probably clear off my car and bring in the scraper so I can get into it tomorrow.

I really hope this isn't going to be one of those winters.

I think I'll make some hot cocoa and try going back to bed.

It's snowing; looks like a couple of inches so far. It's supposed to turn to freezing rain, so I should probably clear off my car and bring in the scraper so I can get into it tomorrow.

I had a sudden and unexpected burst of ambition this afternoon, so I popped in a Brian Setzer CD and did a sinkful of dishes, then bundled up and went out to dig out/ clear off my car. There was a crust of ice over the snow, which made it a bit challenging, but I managed to clear out enough to be able to get out in the morning. The front & back windshields were easy enough, having snow under the ice, but the side windows were not fun. The ice wasn't quite thick enough to come off in chunks like last week. At least it's done. It looks like we got about 4-5" of snow, and fortunately the plow came through before the ice started to accumulate.

The dude who parks next to me was sitting in his bigass SUV running it, which kind of annoyed me, but then he got out and explained that he has to run it in this weather because he runs it on biodiesel. Neat!

OK, and the plow guy is back, so I just went out to move my car so he could plow out my space. There is already a new layer of ice on the windows. I remembered to bring in the scraper so I can get back into the car tomorrow!
