lizziebelle: (book)
Today was the monthly meet & greet at Barnes & Noble, and due to a fabulous coinkydink, someone we know was having a book signing there. Ellen Evert Hopman was promoting her new book. It's a fictional story of a Druid priestess in the time of the early Christian conversion of Ireland. It sounds interesting; I'll have to pick it up when I'm more flush.

She talked a lot about the Celts, the Druids, and her own journey. She even had a pair of harpists playing before & after her talk. She did a nice job, even addressing the difference between Druids and Witches without getting insulting (although with a distinct, and understandable, bias). We've had her for Pagan Pride Day, and for the Litha festival we had a couple of years ago. There was a pretty good turnout, too, with about 20 people listening.

After the talk, we headed down to the café and chatted. I finally met one of the gals from that shop in Easthampton, Awen Tree. I have yet to make it there and check out the shop. Easthampton is quickly becoming a hip little town, like a mini (and more affordable) Northampton.

Skies are grey, and they're talking snow, although not much, and probably not in my immediate area. I'd like to get outside tomorrow and do some walking, so I hope it's not too wet!
