hush, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

The sun came out for a little while today, and of course I took advantage of it by taking lots of pictures. The roses are still blooming (!), and still drenched from yesterday's rain.

My computer gave up processing pix after only a few, so here's some of what I took today.

drenched )

It felt even warmer than the weather dude said it was. There were a ton of birds in the woods, including some very vocal crows. I love watching them fly around, teasing each other with their aeronautic acrobatics. The chipmunks and squirrels were also quite active, dashing around on the ground and in the trees. There were also a lot of folks out enjoying the nice day: couples, kids, families, and lots of dogs.

The leaves on the paths are turning to mulch, ground under countless feet. In some places, where the path was wetter, they squeaked under my boots.

It wasn't as muddy as I'd expected after yesterday's rain, but I was glad I wore boots instead of sneakers.

After coming home for some lunch, I went out again and took some pix next door at the cemetery. The sweetgum and one maple still had colorful leaves. It was curiously still there though, as if life was off playing somewhere else and leaving it for the dead.

OK, in the middle of posting this I glanced out the window and saw a gorgeous sunset, so I ran out and took more pictures. Maybe I will fight with the 'puter after all. *g*

the day goes down in flames, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

This is the photo I wanted to take for the boston.com November contest. Isn't this a great tree?

I got the rest of today's pix up; you can see the rest of them here.
