Thursday musings
Jul. 29th, 2010 03:44 pmToday seems rather anticlimactic after yesterday. It's the slow time of year, so there's not a whole lot happening. I keep thinking of all the things I have yet to do before this weekend's family reunion (paint toenails, pack, clean the bathroom, etc.) and wishing I could duck out and get some of them done. As I am ducking out early tomorrow, however, that would not be prudent. *g*
I woke up at 5:30 this morning in a panic, because for some reason I had remembered that my driver's license expires on Monday, and there is no way I can get to the RMV by then. I was able to renew it online, though. *whew* It cost 50 bucks! That's highway robbery. For that much dough, it should last ten years and not five. :P At least I remembered today and not, say, Tuesday...
Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to the reunion on Saturday (and Denny's tomorrow night with the cousins). I have such a fun family. Saturday morning, we're having a memorial for my aunt Pippi at the cemetery where my dad and grandparents are also buried. It's been a while since I've been there, so that will be good. It's such a gorgeous place, nestled in the hills outside Deposit, NY. I'll try to remember to take pictures this time.
I have plans to try and take portraits of people at the reunion. We'll see if I can get anyone to cooperate. *g* Here's one of the portraits I took at Brushwood, of my friend Snoo. She was standing there like this, and I said, "Don't move!" and she didn't. :)
