growing like weeds

The cygnets are hitting that gangly, tween stage. No feathers yet, but their necks are getting longer and their feet bigger. They're starting to curve their necks like their parents do, too.

They came up out of the pond as I was walking over, so I just followed them around. Just like the goslings, they'd take a few steps then plop down and start chowing on grass. Little eating machines, which at the rate they're growing, they'd have to be.

I checked out Staples in the plaza next to the park, and they had laptop power cords for about $40, which is more than I wanted to spend. Argh. I'll check out Radio Shack later, but something tells me they won't be any cheaper there. I did look on Craigslist last night; nothing there. There aren't any here at the office, either. *sigh* Ah well, it was free, I shouldn't complain. But I was hoping to not have to spend any money on this.

I stopped at Radio Shack on the way home, and they had just what I needed, and for only $8.99. Yay, Radio Shack! So the new baby is charging up. I think I may take her out for a spin tomorrow, if it's not too hot. I can treat myself to an iced (decaf) mocha at Starbucks for my birthday, right?




Isn't she lovely? For a Windows machine, that is. ;)

Yes, I am a die-hard Mac person, but for $8.99? I'll be a part-time PC person.

I have to get some stickers to spruce her up. And she needs a name. Any suggestions? Maybe that will be my first poll. *g*
