It's begun!

Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo, and I actually got some writing done at lunch, albeit on a steno pad. Still, it's writing. Here's my first ever word meter!

350 / 50,000 (0.7%)

So far, I've gotten the protagonist into town and onto the steps of the library, while neatly sneaking in some backstory. Go, me!

I did some handwritten notes for my first day yesterday but no typing. How does that wordometer work, is it on the NaNoWriMo website?

There is one on the NaNo site, but this one is different. If you click on it, you should go right there. I like this one because you can choose the color. :) Just don't put the comma in 50,000, or you will get 50. Took me a couple of tries to figure that out.
