an inconvenient update

Mike (editor) got a call from Paramount today, asking for the DVDs back. It seems that they got sent to us by mistake, and- get this- they were Al Gore's personal copies! So if you haven't already asked me for one (and sent me your address), the offer has been rescinded. Sorry! Those of you who've already asked me are all set. The rest are going back to Paramount.
You can't make stuff like this up. Which is, by the way, my new motto.

Al Gore's personal copies!?!
Date: 2006-11-17 05:12 pm (UTC)Can you do me a huge favor? Can you include a personal note in the package that goes back to Paramount and tell Mr. Gore that I have supported him and believed in him since 1992 and I worked on his campaign in 00 and desperately want to be able to work on his campaign for President in 08? I will send him back the copy of the DVD you sent me the day he announces his candidacy. Is there any way to make that happen?
