plans gone awry

I had planned to go out to Lee today to go hiking with my friends Pam & Greg, but Pam came down with the plague that's been going around, and so I am left planless on a lovely Saturday. There are lots of things I *should* do, like laundry, dishes, and grocery shopping, but I think I'd rather go out for a hike, like I'd planned, only elswhere. There's a newly reopened park not far from here that I've been meaning to check out (and about which I read in The Reminder), and I'm thinking that it's a perfect day to do so. It's sunny and mild (for late November), and the perfect day for hiking.
