Who says the Catholic Church is out of touch with the modern world?
The Vatican took a break from strictly theological matters Tuesday to issue its own rules of the road, a compendium of do's and don'ts on the moral aspects of driving and motoring.
A 36-page document called "Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road" contains 10 Commandments covering everything from road rage, respecting pedestrians, keeping a car in good shape and avoiding rude gestures while behind the wheel.
Hee hee!

Date: 2007-06-21 12:51 am (UTC)That reminds me of the time I was riding the city bus in Quincy and there was this old woman sitting behind me who started muttering, "the instruments of the devil are in that car." I had to look. We were at a red light and there *was* a car stopped next to the bus.
The (female) driver of the car was putting on makeup in her rearview mirror while waiting for the light to change. That must have been it... I didn't see any pitchforks, bagpipes, or accordions in the car.
