rainy Friday

lizziebelle'Twas a busy morning, which is a very good thing. We haven't been this busy all summer. Looks like things are starting up again. The last hour before deadline was flat-out, with people calling and coming in the door right up to the very last minute. I even got them to let me take a spot where they had a house ad. Hey, it's money! We'll take it.
We decided to get lobster rolls for lunch, because they're 3 for $10.99 at Stop & Shop and there just happens to be three of us. Not bad, either, especially for the price. Lots of yummy lobster in them, even if the roll is a glommy white hot dog roll. Diane brought me in some fresh basil from her garden, so I went to Fresh Acres at lunch and bought a wee wedge of goat brie to make that fabulous pasta dish again for dinner. Oh, and Lou from the warehouse brought in some plum tomatoes from his garden, bonus! So it's a yummy day, despite the gloomy rain & chill. I also bought the cutest little carrot cake for Kim, whose birthday is tomorrow.
Mmmmmm, my cubicle smells like basil!
It should be a fun weekend: tomorrow is the Gem, Mineral & Fossil show at the Big E, and I got a slew of free tickets because they advertise with us. I'm meeting a few friends there, to ooh and aah over the shinies. Sunday is the umpteenth annual Lammas Faire, and I have to get cracking on matting some photos for the art show. I've decided not to do the brownie bake-off because, even though I'm a pretty good baker, brownies aren't my forte. I'm more of a shortbread and cookie gal. Oh, and I should bag up some stuff to sell at the flea market. Maybe I can unload some more books. So much to do!
I was just lamenting to a coworker how I was here until almost 5:20 last Friday because the classifieds weren't done, when Linda walked out and handed me this week's classifieds. Which means we'll be done on time this week! Maybe even, dare I say it, early. And, lookie, all the big bosses are off! Hmmmmm...
