I've actually been busy today! Busy as in selling lots of ads! That hasn't happened in a while, especially on a Monday. Of course, this is the first Monday in a few weeks that we haven't had some combination of ice, rain and snow. It was nice not to have to scrape off my car this morning. I'm kind of glad that we didn't have a holiday today! Kind of. A couple more hours of sleep would have been nice. But busy is good.
I finally got around to seeing The Simpsons Movie over the weekend, and it was fun. Not great, but a few good belly laughs, and an actual linear storyline, and I even recognized Albert Brooks as the voice of the evil head of the EPA. Definitely worth seeing if you are a fan.
I watched Stranger Than Fiction last week, and it was better than I expected. I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell, grouping him in my mind firmly in the 'sophomoric humor' category along with Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller, but he pulled it off without being annoying. Pleasant surprise, that. I love Emma Thompson, and Queen Latifah, and Dustin Hoffman was good, as usual. The whole conceit of meeting your own character was irresistible, and the scene where Ms. Thompson realizes who she's talking to is great. Lots of fun if you are a writer, and even if you're not.
