lizziebelle: (rocks fall)
[personal profile] lizziebelle
I was awakened this morning by a ringing sound. It sounded a bit like an old-fashioned phone ring, coming from the vicinity of my handbag. It turned out to be my cell phone alarm, which I *know* I didn't set (never have), and I'm certain that I left it key-locked, which it wasn't this morning. *doo doo doo doo*

I must have gremlins, or perhaps pixies, who decided when I should get up this morning. Perhaps they were bored, or concerned because I wasn't up at the crack of dawn like I usually am.

At least I slept until 9:00, which is quite late for me. And my phone did need recharging, which I noticed when I turned off the alarm.

But still, weird.

I think I'll leave out a bit of scotch for them, just in case. *g*

I'm bumming because [livejournal.com profile] perseph12 was supposed to come to the coven Beltane with me tonight, but it turns out she has to work. I'm sure I'm not half as bummed as she is, though. :(

I'm going to attempt to make oyster stuffed mushrooms for the feast. I have a packet of smoked oysters that I got from the closeout shelf at the store, and it has the recipe on the back. It sounded yummy, and fairly simple, and, you know, oysters... quite appropriate for Beltane! I've never attempted to make stuffed mushrooms before, so this should be an adventure. I do love me some good fungus.

I was hoping to get down to Stanley Park this weekend to check out the progress of the forest garden, but it's quite grey and drizzly out there, and expected to stay so. There's going to be a nature walk there on the 18th; if anyone's interested, I can send you the details. Should be fun!

I suppose, since I'm pretty much stuck inside, that I should get some stuff done around the apartment instead. :P

That makes me think of Nanny Ogg's recipe for Carrots and Oysters ("Carrots so you can see in the dark, and oysters so you have something to look at.")

Thank you for inviting me along, though :). I look forward to participating at another ritual or festival. I am working tomorrow, too, so I feel like this weekend will never end! I could have been dancing around the Maypole, for crying out loud!

Oh, BTW, I don't know whether you need to know this or not, but our woodruff isn't quite up to par yet -- it's only leaves, and no flowers. It was one of the late things this year.

Oh dear, and I forgot all about the Beltane punch. I'm afraid it's beyond my capacity to deal with today. Do you think we'll survive without it? ;)

Oh, darn! We'll have to make do with only wine, beer, cider, and scotch.

Awww, gee! ;)

Maybe we can toss a few woodruff leaves into the wine. :)

Yesh, I'm bumming, too :(. I really wanted to see you and get involved with the ritual, and I am a bit grumpy that my boss didn't let us know until, oh, yesterday. I will be working tomorrow, too, and I am trying to look on the bright and sunny side of life. *Grumble*

Thank you muchly for including me, though.
