This morning was just perfect for a walk in the woods, so I went on down to the wildlife sanctuary, where it was cool & green.
There was a line of cars going up my street, and I guessed that it must be graduation day at Westfield State. "Pomp & Circumstance" echoing through the woods confirmed my guess. *g*
Walking down through Stanley Park, I came upon naptime for the waterfowl:

The azaleas by the pond were in bloom:

I found these very strange flower-like things on an evergreen:

Someone put up these funky birdhouses:

I saw my first ladyslipper of the season!

And my first ladybug!

I snuck around the "do not enter - danger" sign and saw the damage to the boardwalk from last spring's floods:

Little flowers are popping up all over:

The fuzz from some tree (probably cottonwood) was so thick that it looked like it was snowing at one point. That was cool.
There were birds everywhere, singing away, and very few people. It seems that Saturday mornings are a great time to go there!
This afternoon is the Meet & Greet, and I'm hoping that Hogfather comes from Netflix today. If not, I do have several more episodes of Torchwood that I can settle in with. :)
I hope you're all having a fabulous Saturday!
