...or just completely ignored it. I did post it on the weekend. *g*

I have a new photo blog, and I'd like a little feedback/ help. I want to do something different with it, other than just posting photos and details about the photos. It's already evolving, and it's something I really want to explore further.

So far, I've been posting a sentence or so along with the pic, marginally having to do with the subject. I'm thinking that I might write a little story to go with the pix, eventually. Actually, more like a piece of a story, like one page out of a children's book.

What I'd like to hear from you, dear readers, is what you think of the format, any suggestions you might have, and ideas for a good name for the blog. Its current name is a placeholder only.

If I get a lot of good name suggestions, I'll hold a contest! Prize will most likely be one of my photos. :)

Thanks!

One thing I really like about your current LJ postings is the statement of date and location of the photo. Did you leave that out deliberately on the new blog?

I did. I didn't want it to be just about the photo, or where it was taken. I wanted to tell a story with pictures.

"Actually, more like a piece of a story, like one page out of a children's book." I love that idea.

And the format works very well.

Very nice. That's one of my favorite Wordpress themes!

I love the photos you've chosen, and your captions are lovely and evocative.

If I come up with any name ideas, I'll let you know. I can't even name my own stories half the time.

I've looked through your beautiful, evocative and many-layered photographs, enjoyed the descriptive sentences, and batted a few names around in my head. I keep thinking about mist eddies. Like, these images are things we might pass by on any given day and miss, because we're distracted or concentrating on something else in view, but you've caught them and showed us a pathway through our distraction, like parting curtains of mist, to the picture. Is there a word for that?

Failing that, I would go for broke: "Revel".

Wow, that's a good start! That's exactly the sort of mood I was looking for. Hmmm, something like Doorways into Faerie?

This is really nice - I wanted to do something like this with my photos, but the verbal and visual parts of my brain don't seem to line up so nicely. Well done!

Thanks! I think the storyteller part of my brain has felt stifled of late, and it's pushing to be used again. :)

I see stories visually as I write them, so I guess it's only natural that I should find stories in my photos.

I approve of the format. And I like the idea of stories/fragments to accompany the pics.

Also: good choice of photos :)
