I went down to Heritage Park at lunch to take some pictures for the Flickr 888 group, and the swans were right there by the edge of the pond, preening their feathers. I don't love any of the shots I got, though... the light was too bright ,so they contrast a bit too much with the murky water, and the shadows are too dark. There's not a lot I can do with my camera to compensate for these things! Ah well, perhaps the weather after work will cooperate, and I can get something nice this evening.

I like the pose in this one - he (she? it's hard to tell!) was rubbing his head all around, and I caught his neck in a nice reverse S. I also like that you can see the bottom of his bill. They, of course, ignored me completely as I snapped away. The geese and the ducks were a bit more on the shy side.

Well, I made it through the week intact. This week was a bit better than last; I haven't forgotten anything vital (as far as I know!), not quite as many people have given me a hard time, and we had ice cream cake this afternoon for no particular reason except that it's Friday. The classifieds are all done, so all I have left to do is wait for a couple of ads, and of course update LJ. *g*

I dunno... I'm kind of leaning toward staying home. It costs me $15-20 in gas to go there, and I haven't been home for a weekend in a month.

I probably won't decide for sure until tomorrow.
