lizziebelle: (sawyer)

I'm looking forward to the premiere of Fringe on the telly tonight. It's been a while since there's been anything new on TV, especially anything genre. Since it's on Fox, I can only hope that lots of other people watch too, especially if it turns out to be as good as its premise. I'm kind of tired of being disappointed by canceled genre series.

If you wish you'd started watching Lost from the beginning, you're getting a second chance! They're going to start showing it on SciFi next Monday. I'll be watching to get my Sawyer fix. *g*

I was a little skeptical of the dire warnings about severe storms from Weatherbug today, since they didn't seem to me to be all that severe, but I saw several trees and limbs down on my way home from work. Whoa!

damn it I did not know Fringe was on! Now it is too late to see it from the beginning....and I wanted to write about it for Witchvox. Oh well, I'll have to catch it next week I guess...do you know if it will be available online?

They're repeating it on Sunday night. :)

No, no, they're repeating it tomorrow or Thursday or Friday! Check your local listings...

So far, though,it is gross, boring and obvious. Did I say gross? I doubt I'll continue with it.

There's a definite ick factor. It reminds me a lot of X-Files. I'll give it a few more episodes to decide whether I like it...

Well, I was tuning in and out....

What did you think of it?

(ETA: Never mind, you already answered... wonder why I couldn't see that there were already replies to this post?)

Anyway, I liked the character of Walter, and I think the relationship with his son could be interesting. But I find dystopian conspiracy stories to be repetitive. And I kept wishing the female agent character had more facial expressions than "just about to burst into tears."

I think it has promise. I've liked some other shows that JJ Abrams has done. We'll see!

"Cringe", Not "Fringe"

I see that Denethor is still a Bad Father...

I won't be watching again. I think JJ needs new, or more, drugs. I thought it was gross, boring, banal and predictable.

And that cow better call her agent and break the contract.

What a disappointment.

I was thinking the same thing about Denethor! Still crazy after all these years. ;)

I'm willing to give it a couple more episodes before I make up my mind. If I'd judged X-Files on the first episode I saw, I would have missed out on some good stuff. Some bad stuff too, true, but I enjoyed most of its run.

I do hope they dial down the gross factor, though.
