I turned on the news to get a recap of the debate (which I didn't watch, since I already know who I'm voting for) to hear that Paul Newman has passed on. No details, and nothing online yet that I could find.

I'll always think of him as Butch Cassidy, and I remember The Sting playing for weeks and weeks at the Latham Drive-In when I was a kid.

Farewell to a true great of the cinema.

I just read it too. I mean I knew he has been around forever but I just never thought he would die. . : (

I know what you mean. I was consistently surprised whenever his age was mentioned. He didn't take up race car driving until he was my age!

For me, he was always Cool Hand Luke. "What we have here is a failure to communicate" - that senitment applies on oh so many levels.

And, of course, I'm a big fan of his salad dressing.
