I can has electricity
Dec. 30th, 2008 06:40 pmI awoke from a nap at around 12:30 this afternoon to find that my electricity was out. I decided that this was a sign that I should make that trip to the mall to get mats to frame my photos, so I headed out to Holyoke. Man, I hate malls! How did I ever work in them for so long? Perhaps that's why I hate them so much. At least I found a decent parking space. I went to the Christmas Tree Shop, where I found some nice double mats for $1.99 each. Thanks for the tip, B! I got the heck out of there, and hit B&N on the way out to exchange my Bananagrams Yankee swap gift. I decided to get J.K. Rowling's Tales of Beedle the Bard, and I even got two bucks back, which I then spent in the Starbucks there on a decaf peppermint mocha twist. Yum.
The power was still out when I got home, but the sun was coming in the window, so I read for a while, then wrote for a while. It started to get dark, and chilly in here, so I headed out again to Taco Hell for a bite to eat, and CVS for a couple of things. Blessed be, the power was back on when I got home, and it's warming up in here nicely. Apparently a large tree up the street got blown down in the high winds today, and that was the culprit.
The weather report for tomorrow is 4 to 7 inches of snow, which is not what I wanted to hear. I hope I don't have to miss NYE in Hudson, but if the roads are bad, I will stay home. It's supposed to be very windy again tomorrow night, and I don't fancy getting blown off the road.

Date: 2008-12-31 01:45 am (UTC)I'm not thrilled about snow tomorrow, either... had hoped to have plans tomorrow night so we'll see how that goes.
