It's been warm enough for the past few days that the sidewalks were finally free of ice & snow, so I walked down to Stanley Park in the sunshine this afternoon.
I finally got the closeup function to work properly on the camera, and snapped this magnolia bud, full of promise for spring.
There's still some ice around:
The snow is melting in places, showing the grass underneath:
Some of the muddy puddles had bubbles!

The river is mostly free of ice now:
I found a tiny bird's nest on the snowy sidewalk:
On the way back, the sun was shining on the newly repainted door of the chapel at the cemetery, showing off the ironwork:
It was pleasant, but not particularly warm. A bit of breeze kept it from being a perfect walk, but it sure beat the heck out of most of this winter!
