I found these fantastic fungi in the same place I found some last year.

This is what they looked like a week ago:















These are in the hollow of an old tree that really does look like a cave.



I really was down there on the ground taking these pix!

I found lots of other cool fungi, like this strange one:



It was a perfect September day: cool morning, sunny & bright afternoon, not too warm, not too humid. Wonderful. I even slept late this morning (maybe it was the cool night). I feel pretty good today for a change. Even though I'm sorry to have missed last night's Equinox festival, I'm glad I stayed home. The batteries have been recharged.

Oh I love these photos! I always photograph mushrooms in the woods, too - there's something so unexpected about them, and they come in such great shapes and colors. Thanks for sharing these!
