spring snow

Fat, wet snowflakes turned into crystal balls on the shrubbery this morning. By lunchtime, everything that had fallen had melted. Spring snows are like that, often.

Then there are the surprise snows, like the April Fool's snowstorm in '97 that dropped something like 18" on us overnight, with no warning. I'm hoping we don't get any of those this year. O_o

I actually think we got more than 18" that time. I had just planted lettuce a day or two before and it never came up. Phooey!
