wild thing, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

Not the best of days today. More idiots on the phone, tooth bothering me again, not sleeping very well all week. Grumpy LizzieBelle. I also decided to give up on The Tudors halfway through season three. Halfway through an episode, even. It's just not doing it for me anymore.

At least I remembered to take a picture. I'd like to go off with a bunch of wild things and raise the wild rumpus.

I wanted to send you some last night but FB was not cooperating. I hope today is a better day.

Thanks hon. Today is marginally better, but I still feel crappy. Going to get ice cream and sit in the park on my break. :9

FB *was* a pain last night. :P

I can't remember how many series of The Tudors I've survived to date... I can't quite figure out how and why I've kept watching it. I think I just suspend disbelief. I like the opening titles and that's about it.

Jonathan Rees Meyers as a mature Henry VIII??? Um, I don't think so. To me, he is, and always will be, Steerpike the Kitchen Boy in the BBC adaptation of Gormenghast...

My commiserations for the toothache and the insomnia. And the idiots... Hope you're feeling better soon. And sleeping better, too. Lack of sleep is no joke.

Thank you. I was up at the crack of dawn again today, but I managed to take a nap. :)

I think that's why I'm having trouble with The Tudors - JRM gets more and more unbelievable as Henry. Too young, too fit. Also, too many characters to keep track of; I can't keep them all straight!

I know what you mean about keeping track of the characters...

Is it just me? Or do the cast members all look the same?? They're sort of bland and not very memorable...

Mind you, I didn't see the movie of The Other Boleyn Girl because I thought it looked like a 16th century version of Clueless. Don't get me wrong, I really like Clueless, but when Anne and Mary Boleyn look like early 21st chicks in period fancy dress costume, something's going a bit wrong somewhere...

The ITV adaptation of The Other Boleyn Girl was quite good, though it passed by too quick to do the book real justice, but I don't know if you'll be able to track it down in the States.

Gormanghast's good, too, if you like off-beat, stylish fantasy... It's a bit strange, but JRM was an excellent Steerpike. He was well and truly evil...

I saw the movie, and it wasn't great. Eric Bana made a more believable Henry, though.

I think the series may be available on Netflix. I'll have to look for it.

Thanks for the tips!
