adventuring
May. 11th, 2010 07:58 pmSince my tax refund made it into my bank account, I decided to splurge a whole six bucks and go see Ironman 2 today. It was a fun movie; if you enjoyed the first one, you'll probably enjoy this one too. Robert Downey, Jr. was born to play Tony Stark.
The guy sitting behind me didn't find it so captivating, though; I heard snoring several times. Expensive nap, that. *g*
On the way home, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to stop at Mittineague Park, the place I went with Flickr friend Rusty a while back. I took one of the trails, and it was very pleasant.
If you look carefully, you can see the train tracks and the river in this one:

After an early supper, I walked down to the library to pick up a book I'd ordered, and was appalled to see this:
The reason this is appalling is because there should be trees between me and the church, but they've cut them down. All of them. Every single tree on the green. It was sickening.
I assume they cut them down because of the construction on that street, but I will be sad every time I pass by there now. :(

Date: 2010-05-12 12:41 am (UTC)what is it with churches and trees? in my 'hood, hyde park methodist church bricked up the areas around the roots of several very large, very old trees in front of their church and as a result killed the trees. they were gorgeous and i'll miss them.
