Rainy Sunday

It was raining when I woke up this morning, so tentative plans to see the air show went out the window. The pilots still flew, but the ceiling is low so I don't know how anyone saw anything.

It stopped raining a bit ago, so I grabbed the chance to take a walk. I didn't get too far as it started sprinkling again, and my toes are quite damp, but it was good to get out of the house.

I cleaned out my big trunk today, filling a couple of bags to take to Goodwill and making room for my sleeping bags and comforter for camp. Glad to get those out of sight. I'm feeling like I'm starting to make headway now.

It's interesting that I've noticed a few other friends and acquaintances doing pretty much the same thing: cleaning out, tossing, simplifying. It's becoming a movement. It's motivating to see others going through it at the same time.

It's also, for me, a spiritual cleansing. As the clutter reduces, my focus increases. The hard ball of anxiety in my chest relaxes a little. That feels good, too.

My treat today was watching a couple episodes of Buffy that I found on tape when I was looking for something else. Two of my favorites: the dream one from the end of season four, and "Once More with Feeling." I had "Where do we go from here" going through my head on my walk. *g*

nice photo as always. :) wish it were cool enough for me to walk and take photos again. alas, 100+ degree temps are de-motivating in that regard. bleh.

i recently cleared out a lot of old clothes. it feels great. however, they're still in the living-room in a monster pile, waiting for me to take them to sell at a friend's vintage shop. the idea of loading them into my miata is just intimidating. lol.

I've already put the bags of clothes in my car's trunk. Now if only I can remember to stop at Goodwill! ;)

I love that photo and the fact that the droplets aren't over the entire leaf surface.

It's great to hear the simplifying is having a noticeable spiritual impact already.
