duck nap, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

The threatened promised snow did not materialize, and the sun even came out a time or two, so I walked down to Stanley Park. Amazingly, the sidewalks had been cleared all the way there. Thank you, neighbors!

It was so good to be back there. It felt like ages, even though it probably hasn't been more than a couple of weeks.

The feathered beasties seemed happy to see me. I think they're lonely; I'm sure not a lot of people have been down to visit them lately.

I made it all the way to the edge of the wildlife sanctuary, but by then my back was complaining (probably from all that walking through the snow). I decided that I could walk into the woods or walk home, but not both, so I walked home. I might drive down there tomorrow and tackle the woods.

It was a lot less cold today, too; I was able to go out in my leather jacket and fingerless gloves. Amazing how a few days of 'teens and single digits will make 20's and 30's seem warm.

The new YakTrax performed admirably. Not a single slip!

It is rather pretty, but I'm looking forward to daffodils and tulips. ;)
