snowdrops emerging, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

I went down to the park to look for sings of spring, and I found a few. These snowdrops were buried beneath a foot of snow last time I was down there, and in a few days they will have flowers.

The frog pond is thawing out.

Robins are bobbing around on lawns.

And doggies are eager to escape their yards.

The sidewalks are now free of ice and snow, but some of them have large puddles. The paths in the woods are still snow-covered, but mostly packed down enough to walk on. Mostly.

The river wasn't as high as I expected it to be. I was able to sit on a tree root and take this video:

I had expected this tree to be in the water, as it usually is after so much rain and snow melt.

It felt good to be outside and moving around. :)

You weren't kidding about the aliens! ;-)

The leaf in the ice is really neat.

:)

I loved the leaf. It was so thin, almost transparent.

You're so far behind us this year! Snowdrop time is almost over, and we've got our first daffies out already.

This is actually typical for around here. Last year was an anomaly. We did get more than the usual amount of snow, though.

Where I grew up, in western New York state, it's even later!
