cannon, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

I've been having fun choosing old photos and scanning them in so I can share them.

This is one of my favorites; it was taken at the Saratoga Battlefield park. I love how I look like I'm riding a wild stallion or something, rather than a cannon. *g*

Berry picking on my grandparents' farm:

berries

I remember that day clearly, including the pudding my grandmother made from the berries.

My sister and me with a couple of cousins, at my cousin Kip's wedding:

I'm the one with the yellow bow.

More here, and more to come. :)

These are adorable photos. You're very lucky to have this history.

I'm lucky my mom was as much of a shutterbug as I am. I guess that's where I got it! :)

Those are fabulous pictures! I love the one berry picking, and the fact you remember the pudding afterwards. :)

I'm pretty sure I got the shutterbug fever from my mom. ;)

I wonder if I would remember the day so clearly if mom hadn't taken this picture (and used it as a Christmas card that year).

Those were the days... If it's any consolation, at that age anything I decided to sit on would have been some kind of horse, too. I'm sure I had woolen stirrups and reins set up on the bannisters at home.

I was a horse nut as a kid. Posters in my room, little horse figures to play with. My Barbies were equestriennes. *g*

I know exactly where you're coming from. I had Sindy, as opposed to Barbie, but she was equally committed to equestrianism.

And then I discovered the Breyer horse, and wound up with about 300 of the things.

They're still boxed up in the loft.

Mine all had names, pedigrees and their details meticulously entered into a stud book.

They even entered model horse shows.

The sign of a misspent youth...
