I went for a walk along the path through the woods behind the office on my break today, and found lots of pussy willows and other assorted catkins. They always make me think of my dad, who always brought home pussy willows that he found along the road every spring. I resisted picking any.

I'm feeling... drained, I guess is the best word for it. The world has been a bit overwhelming lately. Not just personally, but globally. The trouble with caring about what goes on is that it hurts when things are so terrible for so many people, and the ones who can do anything about it are fighting about stupid and petty issues that have more to do with their own personal agendas than with governing. Life just keeps getting harder, and I thought it would be easier by now. I might have to go on a digital sabbatical, and stop watching the news for a couple of days. Well, I probably won't avoid the internet, but I won't go to any news sites. Or something.

Wow, that didn't go where I thought it would. *g*

Time for homemade veggie pizza, and maybe a glass of wine too.

The world's always been a hard and horrible place for so many folk - if you can do your own small bit for lighting up the darkness, then you're doing well! So many folk just don't care at all...

Meant to comment on this at the time, but life and DDoS got in the way...

I love the picture, both as a picture and for the way it reminds me of being a child enchanted by catkins and pussy willow and the whole concept of spring.

There really is a lot of terrible stuff happening in the world at the moment; it's hard not to be overwhelmed. For my money, that makes it all the more important that you keep going out there and seeing the beauty, no matter how small the moments.
