small victories

OK, so I finally started packing for Sirius Rising. Which is a good thing, since I leave in 2 days. Yeah, I'm a procrastinator! Really, I started earlier, but the serious packing has started tonight. I found my packing list on the 'puter and printed it out. Since I'm not going for the whole week, I don't have to take as many clothes. What to bring? Gotta have all the fun stuff: leather halter, leopard sarong, black velvet top. Warm clothes, leggings, socks. I waterproofed my boots, finally. Can't forget my cloak! And leather jacket.
Having a packing list is a *good thing*. It keeps me from forgetting the important stuff. Like a pillow, various & sundry toiletries, long-sleeved shirts. I would totally forget those.
My portable CD player's tape adapter is shot, so I was bumming that I wouldn't be able to listen to CDs on the trip. My tape collection leaves a lot to be desired. And then I remembered that I have a set of small speakers made especially for such things, and I found them, and they work. Yay! I'll be jammin' with the tunes for the 8-hour drive. Let me tell you, there are parts of New York State where all you get are religious stations. Eek! You'd think people would have something better to do. Apparently not.
Now that I'm packing and getting everything together, it's getting more real that I'm going. I can't wait! I wish I were there now, but there's nothing I can do about that, so I just have to pack all my fun into the time I'm there. Look out Brushwood, here I come!
