I'm up

As usual, I'm up at the crack of dawn on the weekend. I just can't seem to sleep late anymore! No chance to catch a nap today, either. Which sucks, because I will likely be up late tonight watching the Oscars to the bitter end. The good part is I will be seeing lots of good friends this afternoon at the SEF annual meeting. Yay for friends! And the weather will be nice, sunny and in the 30s. No snow today. There was a light dusting overnight, kind of like the powdered sugar you get on pancakes at diners.

I first woke up a little after 6, so I went to the bathroom and back to bed. I noticed that the sky looked rather bright for that early, so I peeked out around the shade and there was the moon in all her glory! That was worth waking up early for. I don't know if I went back to sleep or just dozed, but I finally got up just after 7 'cause I was cold. It was warm enough in here last night to just wear a tank top & leggings to bed, but the temperature outside this morning is around 17 degrees. So I put on some more layers and made some hot cocoa. Such a nice way to start out the day!

I'm warming up the bathroom for my shower now so my hair will be dry before I have to leave at noon. I hate to blow-dry my hair, and avoid it if I can. That's why I usually shower in the evening. Plus, that gives me an extra 20 minutes or so to stay in bed in the morning. :)

I called my sister the other day to wish her a happy birthday (41! Jeez louise!). She told me that they put their house on the market. That's so sad... they moved in there when she was pregnant with Willow. That was almost 13 years ago. I never lived in any one place more than 5 1/2 years. Ever. In my life. I can't imagine living in one place your whole life. I guess I have a bit of gypsy in my soul. I was thinking about where I would buy a house if I was in the position to do so. I think I would stay in this area, but I don't know if I'd stay in Westfield. If I could choose anyplace to live, I think I would choose Hampden. That's my favorite town so far. When we did a lockup there for MDA, everyone was really nice. It's a pretty little town, surrounded by hills. Reminds me a lot of the little towns in the Catskills near where my mom grew up.
