historic house, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

I had taken today off (the only day I could this week) to have an extra day to take photos for Picture Westfield, but the weather was not the most conducive to taking good pictures. I posted something to that effect on Facebook, and a friend suggested I shoot in black & white. So when the rain stopped, I went out and did just that.

The sun did peek out a couple of times, so I shot a few color photos as well, but I do like the B&W shots I took. It worked well with the old houses I was shooting.

My first ever guest blog post appears today on [livejournal.com profile] anaquana's blog, The End of Nowhere. Hee! I never thought I'd be writing a guest blog post. :D

My cousins Peggy and Judy are heading to Holland today, to visit the site of the battle in WWII where our uncle Bob was killed. Peggy started a blog about the experience, and I hope she is able to update it while she is there, but she will certainly do so when she gets back. If you're interested in history, you might want to check it out. Peggy's mother was the repository of a lot of family history and lore, and it looks like Peggy is following in her footsteps. :)

For those of you on my f-list who are feeling wounded by rejection from agents/ publishers, there's a great post over at agent Rachelle Gardner's blog about why it really isn't personal. I love it when publishing folk take the time to explain things without getting all defensive. It's really helpful to those of us just getting started in the biz.

What blogs & websites do you find interesting and/or helpful?

Happy Spring Equinox! It's here, it's finally here. If only the weather would cooperate. *g*

Actually, despite being a bit on the nippy side, it's a nice day out there. Sunny, a few fluffy clouds, a light breeze. Pretty typical mid-late March weather for these parts.

My coworker is off today, so of course it was really busy this morning. I had some help, which was nice, but most of it I had to deal with myself. That's OK, the morning flew by, and there were no major snafus.

Today is another coworker's birthday, and they had cake, brownies, and cookies out back. No less than three people came out to ask me if I wanted any. How nice that I wasn't forgotten!

Right now, it's nice & quiet, and I can get caught up on everything else.

What are you all up to this weekend? Have a lovely one!

ETA Oh! I almost forgot! One of my daffodil sprouts pix was featured on a blog about first daffodils around the world!

Lost is back on Wednesday! How excited am I? Extremely. It's my favorite show ever.

I found out this morning that Jorge Garcia (Hurley on the show) has a blog. I really like his character on the show, and he seems to be as cool as I thought he'd be. I love his little story about having his picture taken with some tourists, then someone asks him if he's from Harry Potter. *g*

From [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan: a blog written by an 82-year-old woman named Helen. She hits the nail on the head, and is a hoot besides. Go read Margaret and Helen. Don't drink anything while reading or you'll need a new keyboard!

One of the Corvette photos I took last Saturday at the barn party is featured on A Photo a Day from Planet Earth! Squee!

I had posted the pic in their Flickr group on a lark, not thinking that they'd actually feature it. I mean, look at the other photos! They're from India, Taiwan, Ireland, Paris... and here's my little photo, taken in Hudson, MA! I'm just floored.

Squee!

Since I am poor this week, I'm in what's-in-the-freezer-and-cupboard mode. I found a chicken breast in the freezer, a jar of Trader Joe's satay sauce in the cupboard, and a packet of saffron rice in the fridge (a remnant of when I had grain moths). Yum! And leftovers for later, too.

I got another link to my photo blog by a fan (and how cool is it to be able to say that? Trés cool) in Amherst. Squee! She also writes about a local production of The Vagina Monologues, which just ups the fun factor. *g*

Normally, by this time on Sunday I am in denial that the weekend is nearly over, but I have one more day to go! Tomorrow is supposed to be warm, but very rainy. A good day to stay in and do some writing.
