While friends in southern California report temps above 100 degrees, here in New England we have a frost warning for tonight, and relatives and friends in central and western NY are reporting snow. In the middle of May. While not unheard of, it's quite unusual.

I can't remember the last time we had a "normal" weather year. The past few years have been increasingly abnormal. The other day, there was a tornado one town over from my mother. Not as big or destructive as the one we had a couple years ago out in western MA, but still. Not something you see often in this part of the country.

It makes me wonder what this summer will bring.

Another very cold, but bright and sunny, morning made for some lovely artwork by Mother Nature.

There was very little open water left on the pond, and the swan was still there. I will be keeping an eye on her, and will make phone calls if I find her frozen into the pond again! That is just unacceptable.

Back to the grind today. Hopefully, there were no disasters while I was gone. ;)

The frost was so thick this morning that it looked like snow in places. It got down into the twenties last night! Too early for this. They had snow up in the Adirondacks the other day.

Summer seems to have departed as quickly and suddenly as it arrived.

I snapped these along the parking lot at work a little while ago. Brrrrr!
