My coworker went home at 2:00, and the classifieds are done; so I am here alone, with nothing to do, until 5:00.

What to do, what to do?

Oh, I know: Emo Haiku!

The clock ticks slowly
as the afternoon plods on
and boredom sets in

I should be working
but there is nothing to do
and the boss is gone

O, for a camera
and an afternoon outside
instead of a desk

Sitting here barefoot
singing Patsy Cline aloud
no one to shush me

My boss is away
and so is her boss, of course
having fun, no doubt

so I am left here
with nothing special to do
holding down the fort

Gold, rust, scarlet, flame:
the colors of autumn are
shining like neon

Rumble of thunder;
are my car windows open?
Better run and check

Holiday weekend:
families take to the roads
heading for the beach
